No Bitter. All Sweet!

No Bitter. All Sweet!

This month I celebrate 11 amazing years as the founder and owner of She She Beauty Lounge.  If you’ve been here since the beginning, then you have been witness to a pampering haven which has continued to evolve over this past decade.

I opened She She when I was 30 years young, a college dropout with zero business experience, but who had a HUGE dream to bring together passionate beauty professionals to provide the best pampering environment for clients.  Along the way, I’ve seen the beauty trends change and technology evolve far beyond what we could have imagined back in 2008.  I’ve grown close with many of our team members and have had the joy of watching them leave to pursue starting a family or other career adventures and sometimes even welcome them back to the team years later.  In addition, I’ve been flattered by the incredible loyalty and support from our clients.  Some of you have been here since the day we opened!

Over the years, there is one common theme that has absolutely fueled me in this beautiful salon endeavor: connection.  Connection with other women is what brought me into the beauty business 20 years ago.  Over this past decade, I’ve loved chatting with you over a mani or brow wax.   I’ve enjoyed  pampering you for that upcoming vacation and being part of some of your most important life moments while you have also been part of mine.  I shared my heart with you when we decided to close our Old Town location and simplify our lives.  I shared my heart when I openly discussed our infertility journey and I joyously shared my heart with you when my family finally grew from two to three then four.  And you were always there to support, cheer and connect.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for 11 wonderful years of connection!

My time with you has taught me that women are powerful, but when we work together and lift each other up, we are unstoppable!  As you can imagine, during the course of a decade, dreams and aspirations can change and as I arrived at 2019, I knew it was time to consider what my life and career would look like without She She in it.   How do you even begin to leave something that has meant so much!?  This business has created personal and professional growth, supported a family, and been my identity long before I got married, had children, or bought a house.  She She has been my family and my home.
This hasn’t been easy, but I believe it is time for me to shine bright in new ways, no matter how scary it may feel.  I want to spend this next decade connecting with women in a different capacity.  I want to take what I’ve learned from our clients, my team, and business ownership and help other women find their voice to do great things!  It is with great pride and confidence that I tell you that August 23, 2019 will be my last day as the owner of She She Beauty Lounge.

I’m thrilled to announce that I’m passing the torch to Kristi Shefferd, a gal we all know and love!  She has been an important part of our team for seven years, but beyond that she is an incredible person.  She’s a skilled esthetician, nail tech, and lash artist, but she’s also hardworking, honest, and excited to continue to grow She She Beauty Lounge and She She University.  She She is having its best year ever and that makes it the perfect time to bring new ideas and new energy to Northern Colorado.  As a valued client, you can expect the same friendly team and same great services.

What’s next for me?!  After August 23, I’ll enjoy my new role as loyal and raving client of She She!  Salon life has been an adventure so I’m looking forward to a brief pause to reflect, remember, and celebrate.  I’ve learned that magic can happen during rest, so I’m looking forward to a slower pace and showering my family with all the love.  I’m an entrepreneur at heart, so last year I launched my personal brand Dame + Heart where I educate on clean beauty, advocate for body positivity and self-love, and encourage others to redefine beauty on their own terms. If you know me, then you know I have a new dream for myself and my family and I’ll look forward to sharing that vision as it unfolds.  You can follow my adventures HERE, HERE or HERE!

In closing, please know that I will always cherish the people and experiences that have been a part of my wonderful time with She She. My big dream blossomed here and I am forever grateful and inspired by having met you and sharing all things beauty with you.

With gratitude,
Susan Hay
